Bridger Bowl

Bridger Bowl is not your typical Montana ski resort because as a nonprofit community ski area, it offers a great ski experience at an affordable price.

Overview

Bridger Bowl Ski Area is located on the east side of the Continental Divide 16 miles from the town of Bozeman, Montana. The snow and deep powder is incredible. Of note, is the record snowfall of 71 inches, yes nearly 6 feet that happened during just one storm over a 24-hour period in December of 2004. So anyone for a little snorkel skiing? Need anymore reason to come Ski Bridger Bowl?

Location

It's just a short 20-minute drive from Bozeman to Bridger Bowl Montana for a day of skiing or summer fun depending on the season.

Bridger Bowl is located 16 miles north of Bozeman on State Highway 86 - Bridger Canyon Road. The Bridger Bowl access road is located near the 16 mile-marker on the left-hand side of the road coming from Bozeman.

If you would rather leave the driving to someone else, Bridger Bowl operates free skier busses during the majority of the skiing season. A Kids' Bus and a Park-N-Ride Bus make trips to the mountain from the Gallatin County Fairgrounds in Bozeman.

Bridger Bowl also has designated parking areas at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds for all carpooling skiers and riders.

Season/Hours

Bridger Bowl Skiing Season
Projected opening date each year is mid December. The mountain slopes remain open, weather dependent, until the first part of April.

Bridger Bowl Summer
Bridger Bowl does not operate any ski lifts during the summer. However, trails are open to hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding in Gallatin National Forest.

Lodging
Lodging can be found in the nearby towns of Bozeman and Livingston.

Places to Eat
Bridger Bowl has three full-service lodges. They are the Jim Bridger Lodge, Saddle Peak Lodge and Deer Park Chalet. Delicious homemade hot lunches, sandwiches and scrumptious baked goods are offered at cafeterias in each of the lodges. Jimmy B's Bar and Grill offers a bar and full-service dining for lunch.

Rental Equipment and Lockers
The ski/snowboard equipment rental and retail shop is located on the first level of the Jim Bridger Lodge. The shop carries Alpine and Telemark Skis and boots. They also have snowboards and boots.
Retail items include goggles, hats, mittens and sunglasses. In addition there are T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, posters and other souvenirs.
