The only short skiing lines in Montana are for the lifts.
Montana has excellent downhill skiing, as well as cross-country and backcountry skiing opportunities. Due to its wide variety of tourist-oriented attractions along with the skiing, Bozeman is ranked by Skiing Magazine as one of the top ten ski towns in the West. You can enjoy the skiing and then return to Bozeman to enjoy art galleries, fine restaurants, movie theaters and unique shops.

Within easy driving distance from Bozeman are the well-known ski resorts of Big Sky and Bridger Bowl.
Bridger Bowl
This is an exceptional ski area near Bozeman. Affordable lift tickets combined with wonderful terrain make Bridger Bowl the place to ski.
Big Sky
Big Sky is the premiere destination ski resort just south of Bozeman. With more than 3600 acres of skiable terrain, Big Sky is definitely worth the price of the lift ticket.
Moonlight Basin
Montana's newest ski area, Moonlight Basin is conveniently located adjacent to Big Sky. Combined ticket pricing allows you to use both resorts.
Bohart
Bohart Ranch Cross-Country Ski Center is a day-use ski center with trails leading through terrain that is suited to cross-country skiing for every age and experience level.
Lone Mountain
Lone Mountain has cross-country trails that have tracks set on one side for traditional skiers and a groomed flat surface on the other side for skaters.
National Forest
Some of the best national forest cross-country trails are found on the Gallatin National Forest just minutes from downtown Bozeman.

PNSAA is an association whose membership is made up of ski areas and ski related suppliers in the northwest. The association has created and encourages a standard for ski area operations and guest services.
