Overview
All hunting in Montana is tightly managed and is under the administration of the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Department. Each species of animal is regulated by a hunting season, number of animals that can be taken and may be further regulated by the need to apply for and receive a specific tag.

Rules and regulations vary by region, so it is best to contact State officials to determine what rule and regulations apply.

Hunting licenses are available for purchase at all Montana Fish, Wildlife and Park Offices, and at FWP License Providers.

Fees and Costs
All licensing fees and cost vary according to the type of animal you are hunting, and whether you use a local outfitter and/or guide.
