Whenever you plan to visit Bozeman, it is wise to dress in layers and don’t forget to check the Bozeman weather forecast. Although the temperatures through out the year are mild compared to other areas, the temperatures here can fluctuate quite a bit from day to night, so it is best to be prepared.

Summer 
Bozeman weather in the summer is pleasant with characteristic warm days, cooler nights and lots of sunshine. Due to its valley location extremely hot weather and humid conditions do not happen very often. Temperatures in the summer rarely exceed 90 degrees during the day.

On the average the warmest month of the year is July when daytime temperatures reach the mid 80’s and evening temperatures dip back into the 50’s.

The highest recorded temperature was 105°F in 1892.

Fall
Early in the Fall, high daily temperatures average 70 degrees. Bozeman Montana weather includes Indian summers which can linger until the middle of October. Late October to early November, Fall is replaced with the chill of Winter.

The Indian summers bring pleasant temperatures and an increase in colder nights. By November, daytime highs are only in the 40’s with nighttime lows reaching the 20’s.

Winter
Bozeman has characteristically mild winters. The average coolest month is January with typical winter temperatures ranging from a low of 15 degrees to a high of 55 degrees.

For the winter sports enthusiast, the relatively low humidity and light winds provide an ideal climate for outdoor winter activities. Downhill ski season usually extends from mid December to the beginning of April.

The lowest recorded temperature was -43°F in 1936.

Spring
Spring is generally a late arrival in the Gallatin Valley. April sees temperatures into the 50’s, then in May they rise to the 60’s, and finally in June, the temperature during the day can get into the 70’s.

May is the average wettest month.
