Just 90 miles from Yellowstone Park, the Lewis and Clark Marathon course in Bozeman, Montana, is a challenging race through beautiful Gallatin Valley held in late May or early June.

To take part in a great race is always a lot of fun, and the Lewis & Clark Marathon has many itching to run. Bozeman, Montana, a nice western town not far from Yellowstone National Park, hosts this fantastic marathon. Surrounded by beautiful forestlands,

Overview

The Lewis and Clark Marathon course offers beautiful views of the Bridger Mountains but is still a challenge, containing both paved and gravel roads, as well as single-track trail. Also, runners need to keep a sense of humor if a train just happens to interrupt the Marathon race around the 15-mile mark.

Shorter races like the Half Marathon, 5k Walk/Run, and Kids’ Race make this annual event something runners of all ages can enjoy.

Where

The 26. 2 mile Marathon and Relay start at Malmborg School on Jackson Creek Road and leads to leads to the starting point for the Half Marathon, a campsite where Captain William Clark and other expedition members camped in 1806.

The 5K Run/Walk begins at the MSU Track Complex on South 7th Avenue and ends on the MSU track.

The Kids’ Run begins on the MSU track and finishes at the Marathon finish line.
