Bozeman Classic Bull Riders Challenge

The Bozeman Classic Bull Riders Challenge is a most thrilling and dangerous event. Bull riding is never a walk in the park. The PBR (Professional Bull Riders) tours always draw crowds wherever they are scheduled. The folks love the excitement and thrills and the amazing bravery of the rough and tough cowboys.

For those who attend the Bozeman Classic Bull Riders Challenge the excitement doesn’t stop. The 8 seconds of suspense as the huge bull twists and turns to buck off the rider go so slowly in these rodeo sports. The crowd holds its breath in anticipation as the seconds tick by.

The Riders

The time the rider is supposed to stay on the bull has been called the most dangerous eight seconds in sports. The cowboy must ride only attached with one hand holding a long braided rope. The sport was so popular from the beginning that a separate organization was formed just for bull riding – the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). They hold many annual events including the PBR finals in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Many professional riders begin riding in high school. They go on to join semi-pro organizations and eventually go professional. The best become eligible to ride in the National Bull Riders Series Finals (NBR).

Famous rider teams include Big Machine, Circle T Ranch, Lone Star Bulls and many others.

The Bulls

The bulls each have a unique name and number. Many become famous for their particular characteristics. Only the bulls with the best health, strength and agility are picked to perform in competitions.

Bulls go through many contortions in order to throw off the riders. They kick, spin and twist. They buck, belly roll and rear. It’s a violent eight seconds for the cowboy. When the bell rings signaling the end of the ride, if the cowboy is still on the bull, he’s done well.

Some famous bulls:

  • Carrillo Cartel
  • Skat Jacket
  • Maverick
  • Tahonta's Shadow
  • What I Say
