Big Sky Food Festival

By Michael from AllTrips.com

Nothing pulls people together more than good food, delicious beverages, music, and a lively social scene. In Big Sky, it happens annually at Bucks T4 Lodge at the Big Sky Food Festival.

For 15+ years, Mike Scholz (the owner of Bucks T4 Lodge & Restaurant) has promoted an annual event to bring folks together once a year to celebrate the culinary arts. Though initially patterned after food festivals he had seen in other communities, Mike and other local business leaders customized it to reflect the uniqueness of Big Sky and its eateries.

Limited to businesses found in the close proximity around Big Sky, dining establishments from the posh and elegant to the down and dirty show off their newest creations, and old favorites. After a $5 entry fee, patrons buy tickets redeemable for food and beverage items available from participating vendors.

The cuisine and variety are amazing, as are the selections of wines, locally-crafted microbrew beers and decadent desserts. Most appetizers are $2-4 per taste, entree items are $3-7 each, desserts are $1-4 per taste, and beer & wine glasses range from $3-8 each.

Kids are welcome and there are always items available for their finicky palates. Regardless of your age, you residency status, or sophisticated tastes, the Big Sky Food Festival has tons to offer everyone lucky enough to be in town on the 3rd Tuesday of July each year.
