Housed in a jail built in 1911, the Gallatin County Pioneer Museum delights visitors with exhibits, military records, historic pictures, books, maps, tours and stories of the good ol' days.
- Take a look back at a history of law enforcement featuring original jail cells and gallows, an 1870s log cabin depicting early pioneer life, an American Indian craft display, and a military history including a vintage gun collection and model of Fort Ellis.

Overview
Only two blocks from Downtown Bozeman, Montana, The Gallatin County Pioneer Museum is a popular research site for those taking a peek back into genealogy as well as Gallatin County and Montana history. Featuring a library, more than 10,000 vintage photos, and several exhibits, and a bookstore with Montana authors and related subjects, the GCPM took over the entire historic brick Gallatin County Jail in 1982 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

- Main Street Exit 309: Continue west about a mile and a half on Main Street to museum.
- North 19th Street Exit 305: Continue south on North 19th to Main Street and turn left.
- North 7th Avenue Exit 306: Continue south on North 7th to Main Street and turn left.
